Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced Pakistan’s commitment to advancing significant infrastructure projects in collaboration with China.
Among these ambitious plans is a tunnel linking Kaghan and Naran to Babusar Top to ease transportation.
Khan announced this during his visit to Beijing, where he attended an international conference. He met with China’s Minister of Transport, Li Xiaopeng, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations.
Accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador Khalil Hashmi and senior officials, the two leaders agreed to cooperate on four major projects.
The proposed tunnel from Kaghan and Naran to Babusar Top stands out as a vital element of this collaboration. Additionally, the ministers talked about the ML-1, M-6, and M-9 projects, which are crucial for enhancing Pakistan’s transportation network.
Khan also highlighted the need to complete the “missing link” of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), asserting that these projects will foster stronger ties between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in the upcoming second phase of the Karakoram Highway.
