The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started building a landmark sculpture on Islamabad’s Margalla Avenue.
Two tall golden hands stand on a concrete base, each holding a globe-shaped sphere that will light up from inside.
Once complete, the installation is expected to stand several feet tall and glow after dusk, creating a new visual marker for motorists entering the city.

A crane lowered the metallic spheres into place while crews wrapped the pedestal in protective sheeting ahead of final finishing.
Margalla Avenue, which links northern Islamabad sectors to the Grand Trunk Road, has undergone rapid upgrades since its opening.
The CDA has paired road expansion with greenbelts and streetlights to distinguish the corridor and underscore the city’s image as a modern capital.
Images of the construction site have circulated widely on social media, drawing curiosity and generally positive feedback from residents who view the piece as a fresh civic icon.
