The German Embassy in Islamabad has announced that employment visa applications will now be processed through the Consular Services Portal.
The decision was shared by German Ambassador to Pakistan, Alfred Grannas, who stated that the move aims to speed up procedures and increase the number of visas issued.
According to the ambassador, all existing waiting lists for employment visas have been closed and will be deleted. However, applicants who have already received appointments under the old system are advised to attend them as scheduled.
For all others, applications must now be initiated through the new online portal. The transition marks a shift in how employment visa applications will be handled, with the new system set to go live on 16 June 2025.
The German Embassy hopes this digital move will bring greater efficiency and faster processing for visa seekers.
Applicants are directed to use the official portal at digital.diplo.de/visa for submitting their employment visa applications starting from the announced date. Those who were previously on waiting lists but did not receive an appointment will need to apply again using the online system.
