The federal government is setting up a Maritime Education Endowment Fund aimed at supporting deserving students in Pakistan’s coastal regions, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced on Sunday.
According to 24News, the fund will offer scholarships to students from underprivileged coastal communities, helping them access quality education and better opportunities.
“The goal is to provide access to standard education for students living in coastal areas,” the minister said. He added that the initiative would initially focus on the country’s coastal belt but would eventually be expanded nationwide.
To ensure transparency, a special committee will be formed to oversee the selection process and distribution of scholarships. The minister stressed that the process would be free from any kind of discrimination.
