Pakistan and Poland on Monday vowed to strengthen their bilateral ties in various fields and stressed the need for lasting peace in the Middle East.

The commitment was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister, Member of the Council of Ministers and Coordinator of Special Services of the Republic of Poland, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of relations between Pakistan and Poland and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to transform their longstanding friendship into a robust, long-term and multifaceted partnership.

The prime minister took note of recent interactions between the two countries and underscored the importance of leadership-level exchanges as a catalyst for expanding bilateral relations.

He also underlined the need for both countries to encourage greater interaction between their respective business communities.

The prime minister appreciated Poland’s support for Pakistan under the EU’s GSP Plus scheme and expressed confidence that the two countries would continue to strengthen ties across all sectors.

The two sides also exchanged views on major regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
