Islamabad Set to Get Modern Cinemas

The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board was held under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, with all board members in attendance.

The meeting decided to revive the cinema industry in Islamabad by redeveloping plots previously allocated for cinema construction in accordance with the laws.

The meeting also approved the establishment of four new cinema sites in the city, which will be built according to modern requirements and international standards. Additionally, the board decided to place the Resource Wing under Member Finance to improve financial matters.

The purpose of placing the Resource Wing under Member Finance is to achieve revenue targets more effectively. The Resource Wing will identify new revenue sources, detect weaknesses in the revenue collection process, and introduce technology and modern practices in the organization’s financial and other matters.

The meeting also decided to hire transaction advisory services for the IT Park in Sector G-10. The CDA Board approved the feasibility and design of the bus terminal from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and authorized the Public-Private Partnership Authority to obtain advisory services for various projects.

The board also approved the placement of the City Sewerage Division under the DG Water to further improve the sewage treatment system in Islamabad. These decisions aim to improve the city’s infrastructure and services.
