Saeed Sheikh, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association, has been awarded the prestigious One World Award 2024 in recognition of his exceptional philanthropic work and exemplary leadership.

Sheikh is the first Pakistani-American and South Asian to receive this honor.

The award was presented by Susan Young, President of the Sister City Associations, during the annual One World Concert at St. Thomas University in Houston. The event was attended by diplomats and notable figures, including Congressman Al Green and prominent businessman Syed Javed Anwar, who all congratulated Sheikh on his achievement.

Congressman Al Green also presented Sheikh with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition, commending his outstanding service.

Sheikh, who has received several accolades in the past, including the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, was celebrated for his remarkable contributions to the community.

In his speech, Congressman Al Green praised Sheikh’s humanitarian efforts, saying, “Saeed Sheikh is an angel in human form, filled with compassion and dedicated to serving humanity.” He highlighted Sheikh’s deep connection to his homeland, faith, language, and culture, despite having settled in the United States after migrating from Pakistan.

Green further emphasized that America stands for unity, beyond distinctions of race or color.

Upon receiving the award, Sheikh expressed his gratitude, stating that it is a great honor and has further strengthened his dedication to humanitarian service.
