Sri Lankan carrier FitsAir has announced plans to begin direct flight operations to Pakistan from April 1, initially operating two flights every week between Colombo and Lahore.
Officials state that the necessary approvals have already been granted, with Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority allowing the airline to launch operations and Lahore airport authorities assigning the required landing slots.
FitsAir is expected to run its Pakistan service on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.
The Sri Lankan low-cost carrier will offer passengers a more affordable way to travel to Colombo and connect onward to other destinations in the region. At the same time, the route is expected to make it easier for Sri Lankan visitors to travel to the northern parts of Pakistan.
FitsAir originally started operations in 1997 under the name ExpoAir, focusing mainly on cargo services across domestic and international routes. Over the years, it built a reputation as a dependable logistics operator, including during difficult political and economic periods in Sri Lanka.
In 2022, the company rebranded as FitsAir and expanded into passenger operations, becoming the first private airline in Sri Lanka to run international commercial flights. Since then, it has steadily widened its network across South Asia and the Middle East.
