Pakistan’s agriculture sector is set for a major upgrade as plans move forward to introduce 57–80 horsepower Belarus tractors through a local assembly line.
The initiative aims to boost farm productivity, cut machinery costs, and create new opportunities for investors.
At a high-level meeting with private tractor investors, Margalla Heavy Industries Ltd., Heavy Industries Taxila and Green Corporate Initiatives, the government discussed the establishment of a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) plant to locally assemble high-horsepower Belarus tractors.
The project carries strong market potential, with an estimated demand for 2,800 units over the next five years.
Officials believe this will not only strengthen Pakistan’s farm mechanization drive but also reduce reliance on imported agricultural machinery.
“An agreement with Belarus on tractors will significantly boost agriculture and increase farmers’ productivity,” said Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, while urging more investors to participate in the venture.
Industry experts view the planned Pakistan–Belarus B2B collaboration as a game-changer for the farming sector, paving the way for advanced mechanization, better yields, and sustainable agricultural growth.
