Pakistan Railways has completed major upgrades at Lahore Railway Station, introducing several new facilities to improve the travel experience for passengers.
The development follows instructions from Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and includes enhancements focused on both comfort and accessibility.
A new lounge for Commercially Important Persons (CIP) has been set up to cater to business and premium travelers, with seating for 70 people. In addition, two air-conditioned waiting areas have been established, offering space for 250 passengers in total.
These include separate halls for families (100 seats), women (70 seats), and men (80 seats). Platforms 2 and 4 have been equipped with water coolers to provide clean drinking water.
Four escalators have also been installed at the same platforms to assist the elderly, women, and passengers carrying heavy bags.
To improve the station’s commercial setup, six new fibre-based stalls have been introduced. The main porch area has been converted into a dedicated family waiting zone, featuring three air conditioners, two upgraded washrooms, and an LED screen.
Additional upgrades include a new ATM in partnership with Habib Bank and SMD screens in the porch area to provide live updates on train arrivals and departures.
