Buraqi Vehicles, a Pakistan-based EV startup, launched a new electric motorcycle that covers 500 kilometers on a single charge. Since the bike is fully designed and assembled in Pakistan, it not only reduces running costs but also offers a promising dealership model for entrepreneurs nationwide.
Motor and Battery Specs
The bike runs on a 2kW high-torque Li-Ion motor, coupled with a 10.43 kWh NCM (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) battery, a setup even larger than many home solar systems. As a result, it delivers higher energy density and impressive long-distance performance.
Design and Local Manufacturing
Buraqi placed the electronics and charging port inside the tank for compact design and durability. Although the motorcycle is splash-resistant, it is not meant for submersion. Since it’s built locally, parts remain easily available and maintenance costs stay low, a major win for long-term users
Performance and Efficiency
The bike reaches a top speed of 85 km/h, which users can unlock to go over 100 km/h. It includes four ride modes, a reverse gear, and disc brakes on both wheels. One full charge consumes just 11.23 units of electricity, costing around Rs. 450–500, which makes it a smart alternative to fuel-powered commuting.
Pricing and Range
Buraqi’s top model costs Rs. 640,000. Surprisingly, the battery alone sells for nearly Rs. 650,000 in the solar market, effectively making the bike cost-neutral. The company also offers 11 variants, starting as low as Rs. 230,000, suited for different rider needs.
Dealership and Payback Potential
Buraqi actively offers dealerships and sales partnerships across Pakistan. It supports partners with branding, technical training, and workshop development. For delivery riders and frequent commuters, the bike can pay for itself in under 10 months, thanks to its minimal operating costs.
