“Spring skiing” wraps up record 170 million-tourist season in China’s Changbai Mountains

Jilin Province, a key force in China’s winter sports economy, bid farewell to the 2024-2025 winter season on April 6 at Beidahu Ski Resort, with the “spring skiing” event marking the season’s end and highlighting Jilin’s rising profile as an international winter sports destination.

Beidahu’s 2024-2025 season was a game-changer, welcoming over one million visitors. Province-wide data underscored robust growth in the sector, with the province receiving 170 million domestic tourists and generating 295 billion yuan (about 40.7 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue between November 2024 and March 2025, registering year-on-year increases of 35% and 21% respectively.
