The council will oversee other initiatives to promote economic cooperation and unlock the potential for mutual growth

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Monday laid the foundation of the “Pakistan-Bangladesh Joint Business Council.”

The MoU for the establishment of the Joint Business Council was signed by Atif Ikram Sheikh, president of FPCCI, and Md Hafizur Rahman, administrator of FBCCI, in the presence of Syed Ahmed Maroof, Pakistan’s high commissioner to Bangladesh.

The joint business council will serve as a platform for exchanging trade and investment information, organising business delegations, and participating businesses in trade exhibitions in both countries.

It will also oversee other initiatives to promote economic cooperation and unlock the potential for mutual growth.

High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof termed the initiative a step forward to facilitate businesses on both sides, encourage collaboration, and enhance Pakistan-Bangladesh bilateral trade ties.
