A report by The Washington Post has unveiled India’s alleged involvement in targeted assassinations in Pakistan, orchestrated through its intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The report claims that since 2021, RAW has overseen at least six killings in Pakistan, using Afghan shooters and Pakistani criminals while avoiding direct involvement of Indian nationals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is portrayed as a driving force behind these operations, projecting an aggressive stance toward India’s perceived enemies. Pakistani investigators revealed RAW’s strategy involves employing intermediaries in Middle Eastern countries and leveraging informal banking systems, known as hawala, to fund these actions.

The report highlighted cases like the 2023 assassination of Syed Khalid Raza and the earlier killing of Zahoor Mistry, allegedly masterminded by a RAW operative under the alias “Tanaz Ansari.” Similar tactics were reportedly used in other attacks, including the murder of Shahid Latif in 2023.

These incidents align with allegations against India for extraterritorial killings of Khalistan separatists in Canada and the U.S., further straining India’s relations with Western nations.

While Pakistan has demanded international attention to India’s actions, New Delhi has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement, maintaining such killings are not official policy.
