Pakistan-China Monitoring Desk, Islamabad

In a landmark development aimed at accelerating Pakistan’s agricultural modernization, the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and China’s globally renowned FAMSUN Group have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a FAMSUN Technology Display Park at PARC and promote cooperation in agricultural innovation, research, technology transfer and capacity building.

The Letter of Intent was signed by Chairman PARC, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, and Chief Executive Officer of FAMSUN Group, Mr. Jack Chen.

The agreement materialized through the personal efforts and vision of Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, with the support of the Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security & Research, to attract world-class agricultural technologies and international investment to Pakistan.

Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said the agreement marks another important step in the Government’s agenda to transform Pakistan’s agriculture through international partnerships and modern technologies.

He said the proposed Technology Display Park will serve as a national platform where the latest agricultural engineering solutions will be demonstrated for researchers, farmers, entrepreneurs, investors and the private sector.

The Minister said Pakistan possesses enormous agricultural potential, but improving productivity, reducing post-harvest losses and increasing value addition require access to modern technologies and global expertise.

He said collaboration with one of the world’s leading agricultural engineering companies will help introduce internationally proven solutions, strengthen research and create new opportunities for investment and industrial cooperation.

Describing the agreement as a historic achievement for PARC, Chairman Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi said the proposed FAMSUN Technology Display Park will become the first dedicated platform of its kind at PARC for showcasing advanced agricultural engineering technologies from a globally recognized company.

Dr. Andrabi said the collaboration will significantly strengthen Pakistan’s agricultural research system by connecting scientific research with modern industrial technologies. He said researchers, scientists, students, farmers and agribusinesses will benefit from direct exposure to advanced technologies, international expertise and collaborative research opportunities.

Chief Executive Officer of FAMSUN Group, Mr. Jack Chen, expressed confidence in Pakistan’s agricultural potential and appreciated PARC’s role as the country’s premier agricultural research organization. He reaffirmed FAMSUN’s commitment to building a long-term partnership with Pakistan through knowledge sharing, innovation and collaborative initiatives that support sustainable agricultural development.

Under the Letter of Intent, both organizations will work together to explore the establishment of the FAMSUN Technology Display Park at PARC, which is envisioned as a centre for technology demonstration, research collaboration, professional training and engagement between government institutions, academia, industry and investors.

The cooperation will also facilitate knowledge exchange and create opportunities for introducing globally recognized agricultural solutions in Pakistan.
