The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the schedule for the men’s and women’s cricket competitions at the upcoming Asian Games 2026, with all matches to be played in the T20I format at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya.
The cricket competitions will run from September 17 to October 3, with the women’s event beginning first before the men’s tournament gets underway on September 24.
India are the defending champions in both competitions after winning gold at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Pakistan’s women’s team will open its campaign against Thailand on September 17 at 10am Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), while the women’s semi-finals will take place on September 20.
The bronze-medal match and final are scheduled for September 22, with both matches starting at 5 am and 10 am PKT respectively.
In the men’s competition, the group stage will be played from September 24 to 26, with Afghanistan, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Oman and Nepal competing for places in the knockout stage.
Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been seeded and will enter the competition directly at the quarter-final stage.
Pakistan will play their quarter-final on September 28 at 5 am PKT against the team finishing second in Group B, while India will face the Group A runners-up at 10 am the same day.
The remaining two quarter-finals will be played on September 29, with Sri Lanka taking on the Group A winners at 5 am and Bangladesh facing the Group B winners at 10 am.
The semi-finals are scheduled for October 1, followed by the bronze-medal match and gold-medal final on October 3.
Under the tournament draw, Pakistan and India cannot meet before the medal matches. The two arch-rivals can only face each other in the gold-medal final or the bronze-medal play-off, both of which are scheduled for October 3.
