The State of Palestine welcomes Cuba’s announcement to intervene in the genocide case against Israel before the International Court of Justice*
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes Cuba’s announcement to intervene in the case relating to the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip, submitted by South Africa against Israel.
The Ministry affirms that this decision expresses Cuba’s firm commitment to justice and the rule of international law, and affirms the deep solidarity and historical friendship between the two countries.
The Ministry calls on all state parties to the Convention to join and announce their active participation in the proceedings before the Court, as ending the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people and combating Israel’s impunity are responsibilities that we must shoulder together in the interest of humanity and the law.
