Officials reaffirm focus on joint investment, economic coordination

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to strengthen collaboration in the energy and minerals sectors, with both sides exploring new avenues for investment and economic cooperation, according to official statements.

The commitment was reaffirmed during a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Friday between Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy.

“Both sides reviewed ongoing collaboration and explored new avenues for cooperation, particularly in the energy and minerals sectors,” Pakistan’s Information Ministry said in a statement. “They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic partnership and promoting mutually beneficial investment opportunities.”

Participants reviewed existing cooperation and discussed further engagement in the energy and minerals domains. Both sides reiterated their intent to expand economic partnership and pursue mutually beneficial investment opportunities in these sectors.

The Saudi envoy acknowledged Pakistan’s participation in the recent Future Minerals Forum held in Riyadh and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration to advance ties in the minerals sector.

“Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to further strengthen economic and strategic cooperation in the coming period,” the information ministry added.
