The Italian Navy’s renowned training ship, Amerigo Vespucci, often hailed as the world’s most beautiful vessel, has arrived in Karachi as part of its global tour.

The oldest in the Italian Navy will remain docked at Karachi Port from December 7 to December 8. Italian Navy officials were warmly received by the Italian Ambassador and Consul General during their visit to the port.

Marking its 29th stop on a world tour, this visit is Amerigo Vespucci’s first ever to Pakistan. The ship, which has upheld Italy’s maritime heritage for 90 years, is celebrated as a symbol of the nation’s seafaring traditions and global reputation.

The “Vespucci World Tour” is an initiative backed by the Italian Minister of Defence Guido Crocetto, along with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government bodies. The ship combines its traditional role of training naval cadets with showcasing Italy’s excellence in craftsmanship, innovation, and culture.

Since it departed from Genoa on July 1, 2023, the Amerigo Vespucci has embarked on a nearly two-year journey to share Italy’s rich heritage in history, science, and technology, further enhancing the nation’s international prestige.
