Pakistan: DC Lahore Proposes Dates for Basant 2027
The Lahore deputy commissioner has submitted a summary to the Punjab government proposing that Basant 2027 take place from March 12 to 14. The Punjab Cabinet will make the final decision on the proposed dates.
Under the proposal, authorities would allow kite flying within Lahore district, except in prohibited areas, provided participants use permitted materials.
According to sources at the deputy commissioner’s office, the manufacturing of kites and kite strings will be permitted until March 14, 2027. The purchase, transportation, and storage of kites and kite strings will be allowed from February 1, 2027, while sales to the general public will begin on February 10.
