Exhibit products from WFL Millturn Technologies in Linz, Austria, began their journey to Shanghai on Friday, marking the shipment of the first batch of exhibits for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) this year.

WFL is a professional machine tool manufacturer specializing in the R&D and production of millturn machines, with products widely used in the fields of energy, shipbuilding and aerospace.

WFL Managing Director Stefan Hackl said the company entered the Chinese market more than 20 years ago and decided to take a step towards the CIIE, given China’s role at the heart of the global manufacturing chain.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Austria. WFL hopes to leverage the CIIE to capitalize on the deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Austria and seize opportunities in the Chinese market.

“I don’t see any good reason why we will not be successful in China in the upcoming decades,” Hackl said.

WFL exhibits for this shipment include the brand-new M35-G MILLTURN, marking its debut in Asia. The exhibits will first be transported by land to Hamburg, Germany, and then shipped by sea to Shanghai.

As the world’s first national-level expo dedicated to imports, the CIIE was designed to expand China’s opening up and turn its vast market into a shared opportunity for the world. This year’s CIIE is scheduled for Nov. 5-10. ■
