US companies are exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan’s mining sector, particularly in critical minerals including copper, antimony and tungsten, US Embassy officials told ProPakistani.

In an official talk with select journalists today, they said American commercial interest ranges from small-scale mineral trading operations to potential large investments in major mining projects.

They said some US companies are already engaging with local license holders and small-scale operators to secure supplies of minerals such as antimony, with certain arrangements involving the purchase, testing and export of raw or semi-processed ore into international supply chains.

Antimony has attracted attention due to its importance in industries including defense equipment, precision optics, batteries and other advanced technologies.

Pakistan has notable high-grade antimony deposits, although many occur in smaller concentrated formations rather than large-scale mines.

The embassy officials said copper, antimony and tungsten are among the key minerals attracting interest from American firms as the US works to diversify critical mineral supply chains.

They added that potential investments range from projects requiring a few million dollars to larger-scale mining ventures such as copper projects that require significant capital.
