JazzWorld CEO Aamir Ibrahim, accompanied by VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu and senior leadership, held a series of strategic meetings with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Federal Minister for Defence, and the leadership of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), and Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), to discuss Pakistan’s digital future, strengthen public-private collaboration, and explore pathways to accelerate investment, inclusion, and long-term economic resilience.
In a meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, discussions focused on advancing sustainable economic growth through digital technologies. The delegation highlighted alignment with the Uraan Pakistan framework and the shift toward a knowledge-based economy, positioning JazzWorld’s platform – serving over 100 million users – as a national-scale enabler for learning, earning, and transacting, while emphasizing the importance of policy consistency to sustain long-term investment.
The delegation also met Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, where the strategic importance of telecom networks as critical national infrastructure was highlighted. The discussion underscored the need for resilient, secure, and always-available connectivity, supported by recent spectrum acquisition and continued investment to strengthen coverage and reliability across the country.
During a meeting with Major General (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman, Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the delegation appreciated the transparency and reform-driven approach of the recent spectrum auction. Discussions focused on sustainable industry economics, device affordability, and ecosystem preparedness to support the phased adoption of 5G services while strengthening nationwide connectivity.
In a separate meeting with Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), discussions focused on expanding digital disbursements through JazzCash to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability. The meeting also highlighted women’s economic participation and the need for safe, accessible delivery mechanisms to ensure digital financial inclusion reaches underserved communities. The delegation reaffirmed JazzWorld and VEON’s commitment to advancing women’s inclusion and empowerment through digital and financial services.
The delegation also met with Bilal Bin Saqib, Minister of State, Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), to discuss the evolving digital asset landscape and the importance of responsible blockchain and cryptocurrency frameworks. Discussions focused on regulatory clarity, consumer protection, and opportunities to support financial inclusion, cross-border remittances, and technology investment.
