Pakistan and China on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen their long-standing strategic partnership and expand cooperation in key sectors, as the Chinese Embassy marked the Spring Festival with a special ceremony in the federal capital.

The event, held to celebrate the Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse), was attended by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Pakistan–China friendship has stood strong during difficult times and continues to grow from strength to strength. He noted that China supported Pakistan during its recent economic challenges and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would further help boost economic growth.

Referring to collaboration in the mining sector, the minister said both countries are already working on major projects, and there is room to expand cooperation. He expressed hope that new projects would soon become operational following the success of earlier ventures.

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong said China’s trust in Pakistan remains firm and reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to working closely with Islamabad in areas including energy and minerals.

The ceremony concluded with both sides expressing optimism that the New Year would bring deeper cooperation and shared prosperity for the two countries.
