Pakistan Post has directed all postmaster generals nationwide to activate the official delivery application and submit compliance reports by November 14, as part of its ongoing digital transformation efforts.
Director General Samiullah Khan said the devices required for app activation were provided to post offices across the country through Universal Postal Union (UPU) funding.
In addition to the digital rollout, Pakistan Post has finalised key recommendations to help rescue the institution from potential privatisation. These proposals will soon be presented to the Federal Minister for Communications.
According to a senior official, the government has given Pakistan Post a deadline of December 31 to reduce its financial losses. The recommendations emphasise that digitalisation is essential for the organisation’s long-term survival.
Under the plan, major post offices will be upgraded with modern computerised systems to meet rising e-commerce demands. Officials believe the shift will enable Pakistan Post to launch new revenue-generating public service initiatives and significantly improve efficiency.
The department is also implementing measures to ensure faster mail transmission and timely delivery, aiming to enhance the overall quality of services for customers.
