At the Forum on the Development of Xizang, international guests shared their views on China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, which begins in 2026. They expressed confidence in the country’s trajectory amid global uncertainty. They said China’s long-term planning is crucial for sustaining economic growth, promoting green development, and ensuring stability.

ZAMIR AHMED AWAN, Founding chair of the Global Silk Route Research Alliance, “I believe the 15th Five-Year Plan is very important. What Chinese wisdom has predicted or incorporated is the real situation of politics or the global environment. I’m sure that China will keep the same pace of development as it was in the 1980s, in the 1990s, early 2000s, the last 40 years.”

FELIPE ENERO SEGOVIA, Academic at the University of Santiago, Chile. “From Chile, we have a very high expectation, because we have a very deep relationship with China, especially in these issues of green development. China right now has a lot of investment in green energy, in electric mobility in Chile, including Santiago, the capital of Chile. It’s the city outside China with the largest quantity of electric buses in the world. The majority are from China.”

GIORGIO TENNERONI, President of the Municipal Council of Todi, Italy “I think it’s really good, fast development, because this is kind of an idea for the plans, make concrete decisions, and obviously make people feel comfortable and know exactly what will happen in five years, it creates stability, and that is really important.”
