پاکستان اور چین کی دوستی ایک پرانی، آزمودہ اور ہر موسم میں قائم رہنے والی دوستی ہے، جو اب ایک مضبوط تزویراتی (اسٹریٹجک) شراکت داری میں تبدیل ہو چکی ہے۔ یہ تعلق اکثر ان الفاظ میں بیان کیا جاتا ہے: “ہمالیہ سے بلند، سمندروں سے گہرا، اور شہد سے میٹھا”۔ اگرچہ یہ جملے شاعرانہ لگتے ہیں، لیکن ان میں ہماری دونوں قوموں کے درمیان جذباتی، سیاسی اور تزویراتی تعلقات کی گہرائی صاف جھلکتی ہے۔ عشروں سے ہم نے ایک دوسرے کا ہر اہم عالمی، علاقائی اور قومی مسئلے پر بھرپور ساتھ دیا ہے۔

یہ دوستی اس لیے بھی منفرد ہے کہ ہمارے درمیان مکمل ہم آہنگی اور مفادات کا اتحاد موجود ہے — چاہے وہ سیاست ہو، معیشت، سیکیورٹی، یا اب تیزی سے بڑھتا ہوا شعبہ — سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی۔

سائنسی و تکنیکی تعاون: ایک روشن مستقبل کی بنیاد

حالیہ برسوں میں چین اور پاکستان کے درمیان سب سے امید افزا اور متحرک تعاون سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں سامنے آیا ہے۔ اس تعاون کی بنیاد باہمی اعتماد، مشترکہ اہداف، اور ایک جدید، ترقی یافتہ مستقبل کی مشترکہ خواہش پر رکھی گئی ہے۔ خاص طور پر خلائی پروگرام اس اعتماد اور تعاون کی ایک علامت بن چکا ہے، جو ہمارے تعلقات میں ایک نیا اور روشن باب کھول رہا ہے۔

دوستی کا نشان: سی پیک اور اس سے آگے

بیلٹ اینڈ روڈ انیشی ایٹو (BRI) کے تحت شروع ہونے والا چین-پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری (CPEC) ایک مثالی منصوبہ بن چکا ہے، جس نے پاکستان کی معیشت، توانائی اور بنیادی ڈھانچے کو ایک نئی جہت دی ہے۔ لیکن ہماری شراکت داری اس سے کہیں آگے ہے۔

چین مسلسل پاکستان کی سائنسی ترقی میں مدد کر رہا ہے۔ ہزاروں پاکستانی طلباء کو چین کی بہترین یونیورسٹیوں میں اسکالرشپس دی گئی ہیں، جہاں وہ جدید شعبوں جیسے کہ آرٹیفیشل انٹیلیجنس، روبوٹکس، کوانٹم کمپیوٹنگ، بایوٹیکنالوجی، اور خلائی سائنسز میں تعلیم حاصل کر رہے ہیں۔ اس وقت تقریباً 30,000 پاکستانی طلباء چین میں زیرِ تعلیم ہیں، جو مستقبل میں ایک جدید پاکستان کے معمار بنیں گے۔

نیا دور: خلائی اور سیٹلائٹ ٹیکنالوجی میں تعاون

سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی میں سب سے دلچسپ اور اہم تعاون کا میدان خلائی تحقیق اور سیٹلائٹ ٹیکنالوجی ہے۔ اس شعبے میں پاکستان اور چین کا اشتراک فخر کا باعث ہے اور چین کے پاکستان پر بھرپور اعتماد کی واضح مثال ہے۔

جولائی 2018 میں چین نے پاکستان کا پہلا ریموٹ سینسنگ سیٹلائٹ PRSS-1 کامیابی سے مدار میں بھیجا، جو چین کے Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center سے لانچ کیا گیا۔ اس سیٹلائٹ نے پاکستان کی قدرتی وسائل کے انتظام، شہری منصوبہ بندی، زراعت اور آفات کی نگرانی میں نمایاں بہتری لائی ہے۔

اس کے ساتھ ہی، پاکستانی انجینئرز اور سائنسدانوں کی تیار کردہ ایک اور سیٹلائٹ PakTES-1A بھی چین کے تعاون سے لانچ کی گئی۔ یہ دونوں سیٹلائٹ پاکستان کے خلائی خودانحصاری کی طرف اہم قدم تھے۔

ایک تاریخی سنگِ میل: انسان بردار خلائی پروگرام

حال ہی میں پاکستان نے چین کے انسان بردار خلائی مشن میں بھی شمولیت اختیار کی ہے، جو ایک تاریخی اور علامتی پیش رفت ہے۔ پاکستانی خلابازوں کو چین میں تربیت دی گئی اور بعض نے چینی خلابازوں کے ساتھ خلائی مشن میں بھی حصہ لیا۔ اس سے پاکستان وہ پہلا ملک بن گیا ہے جسے چین نے اپنے انسانی خلائی پروگرام میں شامل کیا — یہ ہمارے دوطرفہ اعتماد کی بلند ترین سطح کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

چین نے پاکستان کو اپنے مستقبل کے Tiangong خلائی اسٹیشن کی تیاری اور استعمال میں شرکت کی دعوت دی ہے۔ اب مشترکہ تجربات، خلابازوں کی تربیت، اور سائنسی آلات کی مشترکہ تیاری جیسے مواقع سامنے آ رہے ہیں۔ پاکستانی سائنسدانوں اور انجینئروں کی شمولیت اس شعبے میں نہ صرف ٹیکنالوجی کی منتقلی بلکہ پُرامن خلائی تحقیق کے لیے بھی ایک روشن موقع ہے۔

مشترکہ وژن، مشترکہ مستقبل

چین اور پاکستان کا مشترکہ نعرہ — “انسانی برادری کا مشترکہ مستقبل” — ہماری خلائی تعاون میں حقیقت کا روپ دھار چکا ہے۔ یہ صرف ٹیکنالوجی کی بات نہیں، بلکہ اعتماد، شمولیت، اور مشترکہ ترقی کی بات ہے۔ پاکستان کے لیے یہ پارٹنرشپ سائنسی ڈھانچے کو مضبوط کرنے اور نئی نسل کو تربیت دینے کا ذریعہ ہے۔ چین کے لیے، پاکستان ایک قابلِ بھروسا شراکت دار اور علاقائی ترقی کا اہم کھلاڑی ہے۔

یہ خلائی تعاون ہمارے سائنسی عزائم کی پُرامن نوعیت کو بھی ظاہر کرتا ہے۔ دونوں ممالک اس بات پر یقین رکھتے ہیں کہ خلا کو امن، تعاون اور مشترکہ فلاح کا میدان ہونا چاہیے، نہ کہ مقابلے اور تصادم کا۔ چین اور پاکستان، ترقی پذیر ممالک کے لیے ایک مثال قائم کر رہے ہیں کہ کس طرح بغیر کسی مقابلہ بازی کے، باہمی تعاون سے ترقی کی جا سکتی ہے۔

انسانی سرمایہ کاری اور علم کی منتقلی

ایک اور قابلِ ذکر شعبہ انسانی وسائل کی ترقی ہے۔ چین کی اعلیٰ تعلیمی اور تحقیقی اداروں نے پاکستانی اسکالرز کے لیے اپنے دروازے کھول دیے ہیں۔ ان میں سے کئی واپس آ کر پاکستان کی یونیورسٹیوں، ریسرچ لیبز اور ٹیکنالوجی انڈسٹریز میں خدمات سرانجام دے رہے ہیں۔

اس کے علاوہ، چین-پاکستان مشترکہ تحقیقی مراکز، انوویشن لیبز، اور یونیورسٹی تعاون تیزی سے ترقی کر رہے ہیں۔ جیسے کہ چین-پاکستان جوائنٹ ریسرچ سینٹر برائے ارتھ سائنسز (The China-Pakistan Joint Research Center for Earth Sciences)اور سینو-پاک سنٹر فار آرٹیفیشل انٹیلیجنس(Sino-Pak Center for Artificial Intelligence)، جو دونوں ممالک کے درمیان تحقیق اور اختراع کو فروغ دے رہے ہیں۔

مستقبل کی طرف نگاہ

جیسے جیسے دنیا ایک نئی ٹیکنالوجیکل دور میں داخل ہو رہی ہے، پاکستان اور چین کی شراکت داری اور بھی اہم ہوتی جا رہی ہے۔ سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی، خاص طور پر خلائی شعبے میں ہمارا تعاون، باہمی ترقی، اختراع، اور خودمختاری کا وعدہ رکھتا ہے۔

چین کے خلائی پروگرام میں پاکستانی خلابازوں کی شمولیت صرف ایک تاریخی قدم نہیں، بلکہ ایک گہرا پیغام ہے:

ہم صرف زمین پر نہیں، بلکہ خلا میں بھی شراکت دار ہیں۔

ہماری روایتی دوستی اب لفظی طور پر ستاروں تک جا پہنچی ہے۔

مستقبل کی طرف دیکھتے ہوئے، امید کی بے شمار وجوہات موجود ہیں۔ باہمی اعتماد، احترام، اور مشترکہ خوابوں کی یہ بنیاد ہمیں نئی بلندیوں تک لے جائے گی۔ چین-پاکستان خلائی تعاون اس دوستی کی وہ روشنی ہے جو نئی نسلوں کے لیے راستے روشن کرے گی — جب دو برادر ممالک خواب دیکھتے ہیں، منصوبہ بناتے ہیں، اور مل کر آگے بڑھتے ہیں۔

Pakistan and China share a time-tested and all-weather friendship that has matured into a robust strategic partnership. Our relationship is often described as higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey. While these poetic expressions may sound symbolic, they reflect the deep emotional, political, and strategic bonds between our two nations. Over the decades, we have stood by each other on every significant regional and global issue, offering steadfast support in times of need. What makes this friendship unique is the absolute harmony and convergence of interests across all domains—political, economic, security, and increasingly, scientific and technological.

One of the most promising and dynamic areas of China-Pakistan cooperation in recent years has been in Science and Technology (S&T). Our collaboration in this field reflects mutual trust, shared goals, and a vision to shape a better and technologically advanced future for both countries. In particular, the space program has emerged as a symbol of this trust and cooperation, opening a new chapter in our bilateral relations.

The Flagship of Friendship: CPEC and Beyond

While the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)—a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)—has captured headlines for transforming Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy landscape, the scope of our partnership goes much further. Science and Technology, long recognized as the engine of national development, has become a central pillar of this growing partnership.

China has consistently supported Pakistan’s efforts to modernize and expand its scientific capabilities. Thousands of Pakistani students have received scholarships and research opportunities in Chinese universities, especially in cutting-edge disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, and Space Sciences. As of today, over 30,000 Pakistani students are enrolled in various Chinese higher education institutions, learning from the best and preparing to serve as the architects of a technologically advanced Pakistan.

A New Era: Cooperation in Space and Satellite Technology

Among the most exciting and strategic dimensions of S&T cooperation is our joint effort in space exploration and satellite technology. Pakistan’s collaboration with China in this domain is not only a matter of pride but a testament to the unparalleled trust and confidence that China places in Pakistan.

China has played a vital role in helping Pakistan enhance its space capabilities. A landmark achievement in this regard was the launch of Pakistan’s first remote sensing satellite, PRSS-1 (Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite-1), which was successfully launched into orbit by China in July 2018 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This satellite has significantly enhanced Pakistan’s capabilities in natural resource management, urban planning, agriculture, and disaster response.

Alongside PRSS-1, another satellite, PakTES-1A—an indigenously developed technology evaluation satellite by Pakistani scientists—was also launched with Chinese support. These twin achievements mark a significant milestone in Pakistan’s journey towards self-reliance in space technology.

But our cooperation has not stopped there.

In a historic and truly symbolic step, Pakistan has recently joined China’s human space exploration program. Pakistani astronauts were selected to participate in a space training program conducted in China, and some have even joined Chinese colleagues in actual space missions. This makes Pakistan the first and only country to be included in China’s manned space program, reflecting an extraordinary level of mutual trust and camaraderie.

This partnership is set to expand further. China has invited Pakistan to participate in the development and utilization of its future space station, the Tiangong. Opportunities for joint experiments, training of astronauts, and even co-development of scientific payloads are on the horizon. The involvement of Pakistani scientists and engineers in such projects offers tremendous potential not only for technology transfer but also for the peaceful exploration and utilization of outer space.

Shared Vision, Shared Future

The shared Chinese and Pakistani vision of “a community with a shared future for mankind” finds real meaning in our cooperation in space. It is not merely about technology; it is about trust, inclusivity, and mutual development. For Pakistan, these partnerships are critical in uplifting our scientific infrastructure and training the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. For China, Pakistan serves as a reliable partner and a key player in realizing the goals of regional connectivity and collective progress.

The space partnership also underscores the peaceful nature of our scientific endeavors. Both countries firmly believe that space should be the domain of peaceful cooperation and shared benefits, not competition and confrontation. By joining hands in this frontier field, China and Pakistan are setting an example for the world—how developing nations can collaborate and rise together without rivalry or exclusion.

Capacity Building and Human Resource Development

Another remarkable area of progress is the consistent Chinese support in building Pakistan’s human capital. Top Chinese institutions have opened their doors to thousands of Pakistani scholars and researchers. Many of them return to serve in Pakistan’s universities, research labs, and high-tech industries. The knowledge exchange is vibrant, continuous, and deepening with each passing year.

Moreover, numerous joint research centers, innovation labs, and university collaborations have been established. For example, the China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences and the Sino-Pak Center for Artificial Intelligence are playing transformative roles in fostering cross-border innovation and applied research.

Looking to the Future

As the world enters a new era of technological transformation, Pakistan and China are well-positioned to benefit from each other’s strengths. Our cooperation in S&T, particularly in the space sector, holds the promise of mutual empowerment, innovation, and strategic autonomy. The recent inclusion of Pakistani astronauts in China’s space program is not only a historic event but also a profound message: we are not just allies on Earth—we are partners in the cosmos.

Our traditional friendship is now extending to the stars, quite literally.

As we look to the future, there is every reason to be optimistic. The strong foundation of mutual respect, trust, and shared aspirations will continue to propel China-Pakistan cooperation into new frontiers. The space program, in all its symbolic and strategic depth, is a shining example of what we can achieve when two brotherly nations dream, build, and rise—together.
