The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to expand its air operations to London, increasing the number of weekly flights to seven from October 27.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the national flag carrier will operate daily flights between Pakistan and London, including five weekly flights between Islamabad and London and two between Lahore and London.

PIA is currently operating four weekly flights to London. The increase in flight frequency reflects growing passenger demand and confidence in the national airline, the spokesperson said.

The expansion is expected to provide passengers with more travel options between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, PIA has issued an international tender to hire a freight handling, clearing and forwarding agent for its operations in France under a three-year contract.

According to tender documents issued by the PIA administration, the airline requires an agent at its Paris station to handle, clear and forward its air and sea consignments.

The documents state that clearing agent services in Paris will be required for a period of three years.

PIA has invited interested companies to submit their tender applications to its Supply Chain Department. The deadline for submission of bids has been set for September 30.

According to PIA officials, appointing a new agent will help improve and streamline cargo operations on the Paris route, making them more efficient.
