Russia warned Britain on Tuesday it would face consequences for supplying drones to Ukraine, which are \u200bused to attack targets on Russian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia’s embassy \u200cin London was responding to a report in the Times newspaper on Saturday which said British-made drones had been used \u200bfor long-range strikes against Russia for the first \u200btime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“London’s actions will inevitably carry consequences for which \u2060it will have to answer,” the embassy said in \u200ba statement posted on its Telegram channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The deeper its involvement \u200bin the conflict and the greater its support for Kiev’s terrorist machinery, the higher the price it will pay.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine has been \u200busing deep-strike drones to hit oil refineries and logistics facilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Britain’s \u200bMinistry of Defence did not confirm whether British drones had been \u200cused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In \u2060June, Britain said it would provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine<\/a> by the end of 2026 as part of a \u00a3752 million ($996 million) funding package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked about the Russian embassy comments, \u200ba defence ministry \u200bspokesperson said: “Britain \u2060stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and we are committed to providing the equipment \u200bUkraine needs to defend itself against Putin’s \u200billegal invasion.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since \u2060the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine in 2022, Moscow has repeatedly warned Britain and other Western allies that \u2060their \u200bsupport for Kyiv, including the \u200bsupply of equipment, could provoke retaliatory measures and increase the risk of \u200ba broader confrontation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
