Illustrative image.Photo Virendra Saklani\/Gulf News<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dubai: Pakistan received $3.6 billion in workers\u2019 remittances in July 2026, up 13 per cent year-on-year and 4.5 per cent from the previous month, the State Bank of Pakistan said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances at $913.9 million, followed by the UAE with $737.3 million, the UK at $555.5 million and the US at $317.2 million, , Geo News reported.<a href=\"https:\/\/vdo.ai\/contact?utm_medium=video&amp;utm_term=gulfnews.com&amp;utm_source=vdoai_logo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><video playsinline=\"playsinline\" height=\"360\" width=\"640\" preload=\"none\" poster=\"https:\/\/img.vdo.ai\/media_file\/v-gulfnews-v5\/source\/uploads\/thumbnails\/175005928816684fc918e2412.png\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/bf82ac93-4327-47f9-8699-2e9dac717797\"><\/video><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Also Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/world\/asia\/pakistan\/pakistan-targets-100-digital-remittances-from-overseas-workers-1.500607657\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pakistan targets 100% digital remittances from overseas workers<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together, Saudi Arabia and the UAE contributed more than $1.65 billion, or about 46 per cent of Pakistan\u2019s total remittances during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the increase, describing the 13 per cent annual rise as \u201chighly encouraging\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe consistent and positive contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the stability and growth of the national economy is highly commendable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Topline Research expects Pakistan\u2019s remittances to reach $40.1 billion in the 2026-27 financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Economist Dr Khaqan Najeeb said the inflows were becoming increasingly important as Pakistan\u2019s export performance remained weak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA weak domestic economy, limited job creation, and large differences in earnings abroad are encouraging more Pakistanis to seek work overseas.
