The vessel, named \u200bMV Gautam, was carrying seven \u2060crew members – six Indians \u200band one Indonesian – and had suffered \u200ba critical technical failure while en route from Oman to India, \u200bleaving it stranded at sea, \u200bthe Pakistani military said in a \u200cstatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 5 (Reuters) – Pakistan’s navy responded to a distress call from \u200ban Indian vessel stranded in \u200cthe Arabian Sea after a critical technical failure, Pakistan’s military said \u200bon Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vessel, named \u200bMV Gautam, was carrying seven \u2060crew members – six Indians \u200band one Indonesian – and had suffered \u200ba critical technical failure while en route from Oman to India, \u200bleaving it stranded at sea, \u200bthe Pakistani military said in a \u200cstatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan’s \u2060navy dispatched a ship named Kashmir, which provided food, medical assistance, and technical support to \u200bstabilise \u200bthe vessel \u2060and ensure the crew’s safety, the statement \u200bsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Pakistan said \u200bits \u2060navy had\u00a0rescued<\/a>\u00a0and evacuated 18 crew members of a merchant \u2060vessel \u200boperating in the \u200bnorthern Arabian Sea after a distress call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
