Trump says the US will blockade the Strait of Hormuz after Iran talks end without a deal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump<\/a> is reportedly considering resuming strikes in Iran<\/a> after threatening to blockade all ships in the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of peace talks<\/a> in Pakistan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US<\/a> president is considering airstrikes on Iran, among other measures, the Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported, citing unnamed US officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has threatened to \u201ctake out\u201d Iran\u2019s energy infrastructure and that the US military would start “blockading any ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump added, without elaborating: “Other countries will be involved with this Blockade.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US Central Command announced that it will blockade all Iranian ports beginning Monday at 10 am EDT, or 5.30 pm in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that the blockade of \u201capproaching military vessels to the Strait of Hormuz is considered a violation of the ceasefire\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Naqer Ghalibaf, who led Tehran<\/a>\u2019s negotiators at the weekend talks with Washington, taunted Trump over rising gas prices, saying, \u201cenjoy the current pump figures\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
