<\/a>Saudi Arabia has joined several friendly countries, as well as the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in condemning in the strongest terms a series of recent Israeli decisions that introduce sweeping extensions to unlawful Israeli control over the West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a joint statement, foreign ministers of 19 countries, as well as secretaries general of the Arab League and OIC, termed the Israeli acts, including reclassifying Palestinian land as so-called Israeli \u2018state land\u2019, accelerating illegal settlement activity, and further entrenching Israeli administration as a flagrant violation of international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement was issued by foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Egypt, Jordan, Luxembourg, Norway, Palestine, Portugal, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and T\u00fcrkiye. They denounced in the strongest terms a series of recent Israeli decisions that introduce sweeping extensions to unlawful Israeli control over the West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cWe are clear that Israel\u2019s illegal settlements, and decisions designed to further them, are a flagrant violation of international law, including previous United Nations Security Council Resolutions and the 2024 Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice. These latest decisions are part of a clear trajectory that aims to change the reality on the ground and to advance unacceptable de facto annexation,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreign ministers and Arab League and OIC chiefs stated that the Israeli moves would also undermine the ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region, including the 20 Point Plan for Gaza, and threaten any meaningful prospect of regional integration. \u201cWe call on the government of Israel to reverse them immediately, to respect its international obligations, and to refrain from actions that would result in permanent changes to the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian Territory,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The joint statement emphasized that these decisions follow the unprecedented acceleration of Israel\u2019s settlement policy, with the approval of the E1 project and the publication of its tender. \u201cSuch actions are a deliberate and direct attack on the viability of the Palestinian State and the implementation of the Two-State Solution. In that context, we reiterate our rejection of all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem,\u201d they said while reaffirming their opposition to any form of annexation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>\u201cIn view of the alarming escalation in the West Bank, we also call on Israel to put an end to settler violence against Palestinians, including by holding those responsible accountable. We reaffirm our commitment to taking concrete steps, in accordance with international law, to counter the expansion of illegal settlements in Palestinian territory and policies and threats of forcible displacement and annexation,\u201d the statement pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cIn the holy month of Ramadan, we also stress the importance of preserving the historic and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites, recognizing the special role of the historic Hashemite custodianship in this regard. We condemn repeated violations of the status quo in Jerusalem, which constitute a threat to regional stability,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The ministers called for the immediate release by Israel of the withheld tax revenues due to the Palestinian Authority. Those revenues must be transferred to the Palestinian Authority, according to the Paris Protocol, and they are vital for the provision of basic services for the Palestinian population in Gaza and in the West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cWe reaffirm our unwavering commitment to achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East on the basis of the Two-State Solution, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant UN resolutions, based on the 4 June 1967 lines. As reflected in the New York Declaration, the end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is imperative for regional peace, stability, and integration,\u201d the foreign ministers said while reiterating that \u201ccoexistence among the region\u2019s peoples and states can be achieved only by realizing an independent, sovereign and democratic Palestinian State.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saudi Arabia has provided SR1.3 billion to address the salary budget deficit of the Yemeni government, under directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support was delivered through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen as part of the Kingdom\u2019s continued efforts to promote stability and development for the Yemeni people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aims to strengthen economic, financial, and monetary stability in Yemen, enhance the capacity of government institutions, improve governance and transparency, and enable the private sector to drive sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership for the new economic support to cover state employee salaries, describing it as an extension of the Kingdom\u2019s longstanding support for the Yemeni people.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
