Geopolitics today is not merely \u201chot\u201d; it is volatile, anxious, and deeply uncertain. The international order that once promised predictability, the rule of law, and collective security appears increasingly hollow. Institutions designed to manage conflict and uphold justice are struggling to remain relevant, while power politics is once again dictating outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of this disorder lies a growing sense that the rule of law in international relations is eroding. The United Nations, envisioned as the guardian of global peace, finds itself constrained, sidelined, and often paralyzed. The extensive use\u2014and abuse\u2014of veto power by major powers has rendered the UN Security Council ineffective in many of the world\u2019s gravest crises. Resolutions are blocked, ignored, or selectively implemented, depending on the political interests of powerful states rather than universal principles. For many around the world, the UN increasingly appears helpless in the face of aggression, occupation, and humanitarian catastrophe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This dysfunction has profound consequences, particularly for small states, weaker nations, and the developing world. Across regions, countries are facing pressures that are unprecedented in recent history. Venezuela remains trapped under sanctions and political coercion. Iran lives under the constant shadow of military threats. Palestine\u2014especially Gaza and the West Bank\u2014continues to endure immense human suffering with little accountability for violations of international law. Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Nigeria have all experienced prolonged instability, foreign intervention, or internal collapse exacerbated by external interference. Even countries like Mexico and Colombia grapple with transnational pressures that blur the line between sovereignty and external control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are not isolated cases; they are symptoms of a broader breakdown. The message being received by much of the developing world is unsettling: sovereignty is conditional, international law is selective, and justice depends largely on geopolitical alignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly, this climate of uncertainty is not only worrying leaders and policymakers\u2014it is deeply affecting ordinary people. Across societies, anxiety is palpable. Citizens feel increasingly vulnerable to decisions made far beyond their borders. There is a growing fear that no country, regardless of its intentions, is immune to coercion, destabilization, or conflict. Nowhere is this sense of unease more visible than among the youth. Young people, who should be planning futures defined by opportunity and hope, instead find themselves grappling with despair, confusion, and insecurity. They question whether international institutions still have meaning, whether peace is achievable, and whether global norms will protect them\u2014or fail them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Middle East stands as one of the most alarming examples of this disorder. The region is in profound turmoil, with conflicts overlapping and escalating. Israel\u2019s actions and posture are widely seen as contributing to regional instability, while persistent U.S. threats against Iran have further inflamed tensions. Any miscalculation could set off a chain reaction with consequences far beyond the region itself. The fear is not abstract; it is immediate and real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Pakistan, these developments are particularly concerning. As an immediate neighbor of Iran, Pakistan cannot afford to view a potential conflict as distant. Any attack on Iran\u2014whether by Israel, the United States, or through indirect means\u2014would have serious repercussions for regional stability. Pakistan\u2019s concerns are not only strategic but also social. A significant portion of Pakistan\u2019s population belongs to the Shia sect, which shares religious and cultural affinities with Iran. These communities are deeply unsettled by the threats facing Iran, and their anxiety reflects a broader national concern about peace, cohesion, and the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The general public in Pakistan increasingly feels caught between forces beyond its control. Many fear that regional instability could spill over into Pakistan, disrupting social harmony, economic recovery, and internal security. The youth, in particular, express frustration and helplessness. They openly question whether international organizations still matter, whether powerful states will ever be held accountable, and whether smaller countries have any meaningful agency in shaping global outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to this uncertainty, scholars, intellectuals, and young voices in Pakistan are engaging in unprecedented debates about geopolitics and national strategy. There is a growing demand for policies that prioritize Pakistan\u2019s safety, sovereignty, and long-term stability. A strong sentiment is emerging that Pakistan must avoid becoming entangled in the rivalries of great powers. Neutrality, balance, and strategic autonomy are increasingly seen not as weakness, but as wisdom in an era of unpredictable alliances and shifting power equations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, there is visible disappointment\u2014particularly regarding Russia\u2019s role in recent years. Many observers point to Moscow\u2019s failure to prevent the collapse of Bashar al-Assad\u2019s position in Syria, its inability to avert American and Israeli attacks on Iran in mid-2025, and the dramatic episode involving Venezuela\u2019s leadership. These events have fueled a perception, fair or not, that Russia is either unwilling or unable to protect its partners from Western pressure. Among the public, this has led to doubts about Russia\u2019s credibility as a counterweight to American power. Such perceptions, if left unaddressed, risk diminishing Russia\u2019s influence among countries that once looked to it for strategic reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China, however, is viewed quite differently in Pakistan. Public sentiment toward China remains overwhelmingly positive. Pakistanis vividly recall China\u2019s role during the May 2025 conflict with India, when Chinese diplomatic, technological, and strategic support was widely seen as instrumental in ensuring Pakistan\u2019s success. For many in Pakistan, China is not merely a partner, but a trustworthy friend\u2014one that has consistently stood by Pakistan in difficult moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This trust goes beyond bilateral relations. There is a growing expectation within Pakistan that China will play a broader role in stabilizing the international system. Many Pakistanis openly support Chinese initiatives such as the Global Security Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and the Belt and Road Initiative. These frameworks are seen as offering an alternative vision of global order\u2014one based on development, mutual respect, non-interference, and shared prosperity rather than coercion and military dominance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet even among China\u2019s supporters, there is a nuanced expectation. Pakistanis do not simply want China to protect its friends; they want it to help protect the principles of international order itself. They hope China will use its economic weight, diplomatic influence, and moral authority to strengthen multilateralism, uphold international law, and give real meaning to the United Nations. In a world hungry for stability, many see China as uniquely positioned to act as a balancing force\u2014firm yet restrained, powerful yet responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Pakistan, the path forward lies in calm, principled diplomacy. Pakistan has long declared a policy of resolving disputes through dialogue and negotiation under the UN Charter. This commitment is not rhetorical; it reflects Pakistan\u2019s own experience with conflict and its high costs. Islamabad understands that war\u2014whether regional or global\u2014would be catastrophic, particularly in a nuclearized environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan also possesses a unique diplomatic asset: trust. It maintains working relationships with competing powers and regional rivals alike. This positions Pakistan as a potential facilitator of dialogue, particularly between Iran and the United States. While mediation is never easy, the ability to talk to all sides without abandoning principles is a rare and valuable quality in today\u2019s polarized world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The broader lesson of our time is clear. Power without restraint breeds chaos. Law without enforcement breeds cynicism. And international institutions without political will become hollow shells. If the current trajectory continues, the world risks sliding further into instability\u2014where conflicts multiply, norms erode, and humanity pays the price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet this moment of crisis also carries an opportunity. There is a growing global awareness that unilateralism and force are failing. From the streets of developing nations to academic forums and policy circles, voices are calling for a return to diplomacy, inclusivity, and genuine multilateralism. Pakistan\u2019s public discourse\u2014especially among its youth\u2014reflects this desire for a fairer, more predictable world order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, Pakistan\u2019s emphasis on neutrality, dialogue, and peace is not an act of fear; it is an assertion of maturity. It recognizes that survival and progress in a fractured world require balance, foresight, and moral clarity. Pakistan does not seek confrontation, nor does it seek submission. It seeks stability\u2014at home, in the region, and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, the future of the international order will be shaped not only by the actions of great powers but by the collective insistence of nations and peoples that law must prevail over force, dialogue over domination, and cooperation over coercion. In an age of uncertainty, that insistence may be humanity\u2019s strongest hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\uff0c\u666e\u901a\u6c11\u4f17\u8d8a\u6765\u8d8a\u611f\u5230\u81ea\u5df1\u88ab\u65e0\u6cd5\u638c\u63a7\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u6240\u5de6\u53f3\u3002\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u62c5\u5fc3\u5730\u533a\u5c40\u52bf\u7684\u4e0d\u7a33\u5b9a\u4f1a\u8513\u5ef6\u81f3\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\uff0c\u4ece\u800c\u7834\u574f\u793e\u4f1a\u548c\u8c10\u3001\u963b\u788d\u7ecf\u6d4e\u590d\u82cf\u4ee5\u53ca\u5f71\u54cd\u56fd\u5185\u5b89\u5168\u3002\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5e74\u8f7b\u4eba\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u8868\u73b0\u51fa\u6cae\u4e27\u548c\u65e0\u52a9\u7684\u60c5\u7eea\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u516c\u5f00\u8d28\u7591\u56fd\u9645\u7ec4\u7ec7\u662f\u5426\u8fd8\u5177\u6709\u610f\u4e49\uff0c\u5f3a\u5927\u7684\u56fd\u5bb6\u662f\u5426\u4f1a\u88ab\u8ffd\u7a76\u8d23\u4efb\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u8f83\u5c0f\u7684\u56fd\u5bb6\u5728\u5851\u9020\u5168\u7403\u7ed3\u679c\u65b9\u9762\u662f\u5426\u6709\u4efb\u4f55\u5b9e\u8d28\u6027\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u529b\u3002
\u9762\u5bf9\u8fd9\u79cd\u4e0d\u786e\u5b9a\u6027\uff0c\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u7684\u5b66\u8005\u3001\u77e5\u8bc6\u5206\u5b50\u4ee5\u53ca\u5e74\u8f7b\u4e00\u4ee3\u7eb7\u7eb7\u53c2\u4e0e\u5230\u6709\u5173\u5730\u7f18\u653f\u6cbb\u548c\u56fd\u5bb6\u6218\u7565\u7684\u524d\u6240\u672a\u6709\u7684\u8ba8\u8bba\u4e2d\u6765\u3002\u4eba\u4eec\u8d8a\u6765\u8d8a\u5f3a\u70c8\u5730\u8981\u6c42\u5236\u5b9a\u4f18\u5148\u4fdd\u969c\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u5b89\u5168\u3001\u4e3b\u6743\u548c\u957f\u671f\u7a33\u5b9a\u7684\u53d1\u5c55\u653f\u7b56\u3002\u4e00\u79cd\u5f3a\u70c8\u7684\u89c2\u5ff5\u6b63\u5728\u5f62\u6210\uff0c\u5373\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u5fc5\u987b\u907f\u514d\u5377\u5165\u5927\u56fd\u4e4b\u95f4\u7684\u7ade\u4e89\u4e4b\u4e2d\u3002\u5728\u8fd9\u6837\u4e00\u4e2a\u8054\u76df\u5173\u7cfb\u96be\u4ee5\u9884\u6d4b\u3001\u6743\u529b\u683c\u5c40\u4e0d\u65ad\u53d8\u5316\u7684\u65f6\u4ee3\uff0c\u4e2d\u7acb\u3001\u5e73\u8861\u548c\u6218\u7565\u81ea\u4e3b\u6027\u4e0d\u518d\u88ab\u89c6\u4e3a\u5f31\u70b9\uff0c\u800c\u88ab\u89c6\u4e3a\u4e00\u79cd\u667a\u6167\u3002
\u4e0e\u6b64\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u4eba\u4eec\u660e\u663e\u611f\u5230\u5931\u671b\u2014\u2014\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5bf9\u4fc4\u7f57\u65af\u8fd1\u5e74\u6765\u6240\u626e\u6f14\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u611f\u5230\u5931\u671b\u3002\u8bb8\u591a\u89c2\u5bdf\u4eba\u58eb\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u83ab\u65af\u79d1\u672a\u80fd\u963b\u6b62\u5df4\u6c99\u5c14\u00b7\u963f\u8428\u5fb7\u5728\u53d9\u5229\u4e9a\u7684\u5730\u4f4d\u5d29\u6e83\uff0c\u672a\u80fd\u907f\u514d\u7f8e\u56fd\u548c\u4ee5\u8272\u5217\u5728 2025 \u5e74\u5e74\u4e2d\u5bf9\u4f0a\u6717\u7684\u653b\u51fb\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u6d89\u53ca\u59d4\u5185\u745e\u62c9\u9886\u5bfc\u5c42\u7684\u90a3\u573a\u91cd\u5927\u4e8b\u4ef6\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4e8b\u4ef6\u52a0\u5267\u4e86\u4eba\u4eec\u7684\u4e00\u79cd\u770b\u6cd5\uff08\u65e0\u8bba\u8fd9\u79cd\u770b\u6cd5\u662f\u5426\u5408\u7406\uff09\uff0c\u5373\u4fc4\u7f57\u65af\u8981\u4e48\u4e0d\u613f\u610f\u3001\u8981\u4e48\u65e0\u6cd5\u4fdd\u62a4\u5176\u4f19\u4f34\u514d\u53d7\u897f\u65b9\u538b\u529b\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u3002\u5728\u516c\u4f17\u4e2d\uff0c\u8fd9\u5bfc\u81f4\u4e86\u5bf9\u4fc4\u7f57\u65af\u4f5c\u4e3a\u6297\u8861\u7f8e\u56fd\u529b\u91cf\u7684\u781d\u7801\u7684\u53ef\u4fe1\u5ea6\u4ea7\u751f\u8d28\u7591\u3002\u5982\u679c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u770b\u6cd5\u4e0d\u52a0\u4ee5\u89e3\u51b3\uff0c\u5c31\u6709\u53ef\u80fd\u524a\u5f31\u4fc4\u7f57\u65af\u5728\u90a3\u4e9b\u66fe\u7ecf\u6307\u671b\u5b83\u63d0\u4f9b\u6218\u7565\u4fdd\u969c\u7684\u56fd\u5bb6\u4e2d\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u529b\u3002
\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u5728\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u5374\u88ab\u6709\u7740\u622a\u7136\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u8bc4\u4ef7\u3002\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u6c11\u4f17\u5bf9\u4e2d\u56fd\u7684\u770b\u6cd5\u4ecd\u7136\u666e\u904d\u79ef\u6781\u3002\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u4eba\u6e05\u6670\u5730\u8bb0\u5f97\u5728 2025 \u5e74 5 \u6708\u4e0e\u5370\u5ea6\u7684\u51b2\u7a81\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u6240\u53d1\u6325\u7684\u4f5c\u7528\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u4e2d\u56fd\u7684\u5916\u4ea4\u3001\u6280\u672f\u53ca\u6218\u7565\u652f\u6301\u88ab\u5e7f\u6cdb\u8ba4\u4e3a\u5bf9\u786e\u4fdd\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u53d6\u5f97\u80dc\u5229\u8d77\u5230\u4e86\u5173\u952e\u4f5c\u7528\u3002\u5bf9\u8bb8\u591a\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u4eba\u6765\u8bf4\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u4e0d\u4ec5\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u5408\u4f5c\u4f19\u4f34\uff0c\u66f4\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u503c\u5f97\u4fe1\u8d56\u7684\u670b\u53cb\u2014\u2014\u5728\u56f0\u96be\u65f6\u523b\u59cb\u7ec8\u575a\u5b9a\u5730\u652f\u6301\u7740\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u3002

\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u5373\u4fbf\u5728\u652f\u6301\u4e2d\u56fd\u7684\u7fa4\u4f53\u4e2d\uff0c\u4e5f\u5b58\u5728\u7740\u4e00\u79cd\u5fae\u5999\u7684\u671f\u671b\u3002\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u4eba\u5e76\u975e\u4ec5\u4ec5\u5e0c\u671b\u4e2d\u56fd\u4fdd\u62a4\u5176\u76df\u53cb\uff1b\u4ed6\u4eec\u8fd8\u5e0c\u671b\u4e2d\u56fd\u80fd\u5e2e\u52a9\u7ef4\u62a4\u56fd\u9645\u79e9\u5e8f\u7684\u57fa\u672c\u539f\u5219\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u671f\u671b\u4e2d\u56fd\u51ed\u501f\u5176\u7ecf\u6d4e\u5f71\u54cd\u529b\u3001\u5916\u4ea4\u5f71\u54cd\u529b\u548c\u9053\u5fb7\u6743\u5a01\uff0c\u6765\u5f3a\u5316\u591a\u8fb9\u4e3b\u4e49\u3001\u7ef4\u62a4\u56fd\u9645\u6cd5\uff0c\u5e76\u8d4b\u4e88\u8054\u5408\u56fd\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u610f\u4e49\u3002\u5728\u4e00\u4e2a\u6e34\u671b\u7a33\u5b9a\u7684\u4e16\u754c\u91cc\uff0c\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u8ba4\u4e3a\u4e2d\u56fd\u5728\u53d1\u6325\u5e73\u8861\u529b\u91cf\u65b9\u9762\u5177\u6709\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u4f18\u52bf\u2014\u2014\u65e2\u575a\u5b9a\u53c8\u514b\u5236\uff0c\u65e2\u5f3a\u5927\u53c8\u8d1f\u8d23\u3002
\u5bf9\u4e8e\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u672a\u6765\u7684\u9053\u8def\u5728\u4e8e\u51b7\u9759\u4e14\u9075\u5faa\u539f\u5219\u7684\u5916\u4ea4\u624b\u6bb5\u3002\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u957f\u671f\u4ee5\u6765\u4e00\u76f4\u5949\u884c\u901a\u8fc7\u8054\u5408\u56fd\u5baa\u7ae0\u89c4\u5b9a\u7684\u5bf9\u8bdd\u4e0e\u8c08\u5224\u6765\u89e3\u51b3\u4e89\u7aef\u7684\u653f\u7b56\u3002\u8fd9\u4e00\u627f\u8bfa\u5e76\u975e\u7a7a\u8c08\uff1b\u5b83\u53cd\u6620\u4e86\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u81ea\u8eab\u5728\u51b2\u7a81\u4e2d\u7684\u7ecf\u5386\u4ee5\u53ca\u5176\u9ad8\u6602\u7684\u4ee3\u4ef7\u3002\u4f0a\u65af\u5170\u5821\u660e\u767d\uff0c\u65e0\u8bba\u662f\u5730\u533a\u6027\u8fd8\u662f\u5168\u7403\u6027\u7684\u6218\u4e89\uff0c\u90fd\u4f1a\u5e26\u6765\u707e\u96be\u6027\u7684\u540e\u679c\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5728\u62e5\u6709\u6838\u6b66\u5668\u7684\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u3002
\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u8fd8\u62e5\u6709\u4e00\u9879\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u5916\u4ea4\u4f18\u52bf\uff1a\u4fe1\u4efb\u3002\u5b83\u4e0e\u7ade\u4e89\u56fd\u5bb6\u4ee5\u53ca\u5730\u533a\u5bf9\u624b\u90fd\u4fdd\u6301\u7740\u826f\u597d\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u5173\u7cfb\u3002\u8fd9\u4f7f\u5f97\u5df4\u57fa\u65af\u5766\u6709\u53ef\u80fd\u6210\u4e3a\u4fc3\u8fdb\u5bf9\u8bdd\u7684\u63a8\u52a8\u8005\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5728\u4f0a\u6717\u548c\u7f8e\u56fd\u4e4b\u95f4\u3002\u5c3d\u7ba1\u8c03\u89e3\u5de5\u4f5c\u4ece\u6765\u90fd\u4e0d\u662f\u4e00\u4ef6\u5bb9\u6613\u7684\u4e8b\uff0c\u4f46\u80fd\u591f\u5728\u4e0d\u653e\u5f03\u539f\u5219\u7684\u524d\u63d0\u4e0b\u4e0e\u5404\u65b9\u8fdb\u884c\u5bf9\u8bdd\uff0c\u8fd9\u5728\u5f53\u4eca\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4e24\u6781\u5206\u5316\u7684\u4e16\u754c\u4e2d\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u7f55\u89c1\u4e14\u5b9d\u8d35\u7684\u54c1\u8d28\u3002
