{"id":27551,"date":"2026-01-01T05:23:45","date_gmt":"2026-01-01T05:23:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=27551"},"modified":"2026-01-01T05:23:49","modified_gmt":"2026-01-01T05:23:49","slug":"pakistan-economy-to-maintain-positive-momentum-lsm-to-recover-says-finance-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=27551","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan economy to maintain \u2018positive momentum\u2019, LSM to recover, says Finance ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The government expects inflation to remain in the range of 5.5-6.5% in December<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/channel\/UCFWx0mweS7ExXjs3s_wH0CQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BusinessRecorder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/businessrecorder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brecordernews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/feeds\/latest-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><strong>Pakistan\u2019s economy is projected to maintain its \u201cpositive momentum\u201d in the coming months, driven by industrial growth, improved governance, digitalisation, and prudent macroeconomic management, the Ministry of Finance said in its\u00a0<em>Monthly Economic Update &amp; Outlook December 2025<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its report, released on Wednesday, the government said \u201cthe outlook for Pakistan\u2019s economy remains positive, underpinned by sustained growth in industrial activity with continued momentum in key sectors such as textiles, automobiles, cement, and food processing\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier on Tuesday, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40399855\/pakistans-gdp-grows-371-in-q1-fy2026-says-ahsan-iqbal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3.71% gross domestic product (GDP) growth&nbsp;<\/a>in the first quarter of FY2025-26, largely driven by a significant rise in industrial output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, government critics, including opposition members and economists, claim that the figures&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40399982\/unrealistic-data-govt-says-economy-grew-371-but-critics-cry-foul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were \u2018unrealistic\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The monthly outlook released today highlighted that Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) is expected to maintain its trajectory of recovery, supported by ongoing structural reforms aimed at enhancing industrial competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInflation is projected to remain moderate, in the range of 5.5-6.5% in December, primarily reflecting base effect,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan\u2019s headline inflation&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40395156\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clocked in at 6.1%&nbsp;<\/a>on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in November 2025, which was higher than the Ministry of Finance\u2019s then expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, on the external front, Pakistan\u2019s current account is expected to remain within the targeted range. \u201cHowever, robust remittance inflows and steady performance in IT &amp; services exports are likely to cushion external pressures,\u201d read the monthly outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It shared that fiscal consolidation is expected to continue supporting macroeconomic stability, with government efforts in expenditure management, enhanced tax collection and structural reforms contributing to sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reference Link:- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40400023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.brecorder.com\/news\/40400023<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pakistan\u2019s economy is projected to maintain its \u201cpositive momentum\u201d in the coming months, driven by industrial growth, improved governance, digitalisation, and prudent macroeconomic management, the Ministry of Finance said in its\u00a0Monthly Economic Update &amp; Outlook December 2025.
