The main purpose was to qualify for reduced duties on hybrid and electric vehicle kits, enabling competitive pricing for models like the J7 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) and J6 (electric).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local assembly supports Pakistan\u2019s push toward greener mobility by making new energy vehicles more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JAC <\/strong><\/a>Motors: Pickup Trucks and Commercial Vehicles<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

JAC Motors, long present in commercial vehicles, collaborated with Ghandhara Automobiles to start CKD assembly of the T9<\/a> Hunter double-cabin diesel pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key objective was to benefit from lower CKD tariffs, which helped position the T9 as one of the more affordable options in the diesel 4\u00d74 pickup segment while ensuring a steady supply of vehicles and spare parts locally.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jetour<\/strong><\/a>: Another Chery Sub-Brand<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jetour, another Chery sub-brand aimed at stylish crossovers and family SUVs, worked with United Motors to commence CKD operations for models such as the Dashing <\/a>and X70 Plus<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary reason was to access CKD duty reductions, allowing these turbo-petrol SUVs to target price-sensitive segments below established competitors through localized production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
