{"id":26093,"date":"2025-11-11T01:15:41","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T01:15:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=26093"},"modified":"2025-11-11T01:15:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T01:15:44","slug":"pakistan-navy-ship-in-bangladesh-after-over-50-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=26093","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan Navy ship in Bangladesh after over 50 years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Pakistan Navy ship arrived at Bangladesh&#8217;s Chattogram (Chittagong) Port last Friday on a four-day &#8220;goodwill&#8221; visit, the first such occurrence since 1971, amid a dramatic turnaround in bilateral ties after nearly two decades of hostility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts said the development signalled Pakistan&#8217;s attempt to establish its presence in the Bay of Bengal and that this had security implications for eastern India and Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Upon arrival, the ship was warmly received on behalf of Commander Chattogram Naval Area,&#8221; the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/bangladesh-navy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bangladesh Navy<\/a>\u00a0said in a statement. &#8220;This\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/goodwill-visit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">goodwill visit<\/a>\u00a0is expected to strengthen further the friendly relations between the Bangladesh Navy and the Pakistan Navy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such engagements were not frequent even during pro-Pakistan regimes in Dhaka after Sheikh Mujib&#8217;s assassination or during BNP rule, analysts said.
