{"id":23277,"date":"2025-08-19T09:00:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T09:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=23277"},"modified":"2025-08-19T09:00:55","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T09:00:55","slug":"chinese-sez-inaugurated-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=23277","title":{"rendered":"Chinese SEZ Inaugurated in Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pakistan inaugurates Chinese textile group&#8217;s special economic zone (SEZ) in Islamabad. $400M exports expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/im.rediff.com\/money\/2015\/feb\/12china1.jpg?fr=money\" alt=\"Chinese SEZ Inaugurated in Pakistan\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Islamabad, Aug 15 (PTI) Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated a special economic zone (SEZ) in Islamabad to be set up by a Chinese textile group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State-run the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that the project would generate exports worth USD 400 million for the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be set up by the Chinese textile group Challenge Fashion Private Limited, which is set to invest USD 100 million over five years in the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PM Sharif welcomed the establishment of an SEZ, saying that the \u0093initiative would facilitate technology transfer, skill development, and sustainable industrial growth\u0094.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also met with the company&#8217;s delegation \u0097 led by its chairman Huwang Weiguo, expressing Pakistan&#8217;s willingness to \u0093take bilateral ties to new heights\u0094, APP quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newads.rediff.com\/rediffadserver\/www\/delivery\/lg.php?bannerid=1177&amp;campaignid=537&amp;zoneid=767&amp;source=_blank&amp;loc=https%3A%2F%2Fmoney.rediff.com%2Fnews%2Fmarket%2Fchinese-sez-inaugurated-in-pakistan%2F32065420250815&amp;cb=40a4be9905\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The prime minister assured the delegation of his government&#8217;s complete facilitation for setting up the zone as part of the \u0093industrial component of CPEC,\u0094 and thanked the delegation for having faith in the Pakistani market, APP reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prime minister expressed Pakistan&#8217;s desire to set up more such units across the country and hoped to benefit from China&#8217;s textile sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also said that \u0093a China-Pakistan Business-to-Business Conference would soon be held in China, providing an opportunity for collaboration between private businesses of both countries,\u0094 APP reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman Huwang said he aims to establish a modern textile industry in Pakistan and thanked the prime minister for his support and hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan and China have strong economic ties and the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a leading exponent of the relationship.
