Apart from converting petrol bikes into EVs, participants can also gain credits by planting trees and transitioning to LED lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Citizens can register and apply through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/greencredit.punjab.gov.pk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">program\u2019s official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Urban Forests and Tree Plantation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aurangzeb said the provincial government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is promoting tree plantation through the \u201cPlant for Pakistan\u201d initiative to increase Punjab\u2019s green cover. She highlighted that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Residents of Lahore can receive free saplings delivered to their homes by calling 1399.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>300,000 trees will be planted along Ring Road.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Australian-style tree monitoring technology will ensure each tree is mapped and tracked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that encroached forest lands have been reclaimed and a technology-based fire control force will be introduced, supervised by the Bank of Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Air Quality and Smog Control Efforts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister emphasized that improving Lahore\u2019s air quality is a top priority. She noted that seven air quality monitors have already been installed as part of the Punjab Air Quality System, and controlling smog remains a central focus of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aurangzeb urged citizens to participate in the greening efforts, stating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>It is the responsibility of every Lahori to plant more trees.
