{"id":21253,"date":"2025-07-05T04:49:06","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T04:49:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=21253"},"modified":"2025-09-30T11:40:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T11:40:12","slug":"pakistan-claim-stunning-victory-over-maldives-to-win-asian-youth-netball-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=21253","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan claim stunning victory over Maldives to win Asian Youth Netball Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"whatsapp:\/\/send?text=Pakistan%20claim%20stunning%20victory%20over%20Maldives%20to%20win%20Asian%20Youth%20Netball%20Championship%20%0A%20https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dawn.com%2Fnews%2F1922044%3Futm_source%3Dwhatsapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a>Pakistan thrashed the Maldives 60-35 to win the Asian Youth Netball Championship on Friday.<a href=\"https:\/\/whatsapp.com\/channel\/0029VaMc238IiRov8okfYy3n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan thrashed the Maldives 60-35 in the final to win the Asian Youth Netball Championship on Friday and maintain its winning streak throughout the tournament being held in South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakistan had a strong start with 17-5 in the first quarter before ending halftime at 34-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Green Shirts surged to 45-23 in the third quarter and ended at 60-35 to lift the championship trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standout performances were delivered by Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Alina, Amani, Parisa and Farah Rasheed, who collectively maintained Pakistan\u2019s stronghold on the game from start to finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation Mudassir Arian, along with President Sameen Malik and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, extended their congratulations to the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the team for their victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSpecial appreciation for staying undefeated throughout the tournament!\u201d he said in a post on X. \u201cVery well played!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pakistan Embassy in Seoul congratulated the team on their win, calling it \u201ca proud moment for the nation and a great milestone for [Pakistani] women in sports.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A day earlier, the Green Shirts clinched their spot in the final after&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1921845\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defeating Japan<\/a>&nbsp;64-39. In the quarter-finals, Pakistan defeated the Maldives 49-39 to advance to the semi-finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament was taking place from June 27 to July 4 at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eleven teams were participating in the championship and had been divided into two groups. Group A: Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and India.
