This station contains two units (K-2 &amp; K-3) of the latest technology, termed generation-III technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KANUPP, the country\u2019s first nuclear power plant with a capacity of 137 MWs, was permanently shut down in August 2021 after 50 years of operation and is in the decommissioning phase. Currently, the overall average tariff of Pakistan\u2019s NPPs contains a notable share of the debt repayment associated with the newly constructed units.
