The trailblazer, regarded as the greatest women\u2019s cricketer from Pakistan, has now become the first woman to be part of ICC\u2019s Hall of Fame from the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made before the World Test Championship final at Lord\u2019s, and her name stood alongside some of the biggest stars in world cricket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From her debut in 2005 to her retirement in 2020, Sana Mir played a vital role in shaping the future of women\u2019s cricket in Pakistan \u2014 both on and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/propakistani.pk\/2025\/04\/15\/former-pakistan-captain-sana-mir-named-among-young-global-leaders-class-of-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">off the field<\/a>. She played 120 ODIs and 106 T20Is for Pakistan, captaining the national side in 72 ODIs and 65 T20Is. Under her leadership, Pakistan won gold medals at the Asian Games in both 2010 and 2014; achievements that helped bring attention and respect to women\u2019s cricket in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 151 wickets in ODIs, she remains Pakistan\u2019s leading wicket-taker in the format. In 2018, she became the top-ranked ODI bowler in the world, another historic first for a Pakistani woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking after her induction into the ICC Hall of Fame, Sana Mir said: \u201cFrom dreaming as a little girl that one day there would even be a women\u2019s team in our country to now standing here, inducted among the very legends I idolised long before I ever held a bat or a ball \u2014 this is a moment I couldn\u2019t have dared to imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sana Mir joins an elite group of Pakistani cricketers in the Hall of Fame, including Hanif Mohammad, World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan, fast bowling greats Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, batting maestros Zaheer Abbas and Javed Miandad, and the legendary spinner Abdul Qadir. Her inclusion is significant not just because of her achievements, but because it marks a shift in the way women\u2019s cricket is recognised in Pakistan and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MS Dhoni, Matthew Hayden, Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Daniel Vettori, and Sarah Taylor join Sana Mir in the latest ICC Hall of Fame class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Pakistan fans, this moment belongs to Sana Mir. Her induction is not only a recognition of her individual excellence but also a tribute to the fight, progress, and dreams of countless young girls in Pakistan who now see a clear path to greatness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sana Mir didn\u2019t just play cricket \u2014 she changed it.
