<\/a><\/a><\/a>Matthew Miller, the former spokesperson of the US State Department who spent months defending Israel\u2019s conduct in the war in Gaza, has acknowledged that the Israeli military has \u201cwithout a doubt\u201d committed war crimes in the\u00a0Palestinian territor<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miller told the Sky News Trump100 podcast on Monday, however, that he did not believe genocide was being carried out in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a genocide, but I think it is \u2013 without a doubt \u2013 true that Israel has committed war crimes,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ex-spokesperson served as one of the public faces of former President Joe Biden\u2019s staunch support for Israel as it killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and flattened much of the enclave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Nations experts and leading rights groups have accused Israel of genocidal acts \u2013 an effort to destroy the Palestinian people in full or in part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No US restrictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Miller\u2019s comments raise questions on why the Biden administration continued to arm Israel despite US laws that restrict military aid to countries that commit violations of human rights and international law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former US president\u2019s aides repeatedly certified<\/a> that they could not conclude that Israel was violating the laws of war or restricting humanitarian aid to Palestinians, despite the ample evidence documenting Israeli abuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Gaza\u2019s Health Ministry, at least 54,381 Palestinians have been killed and 124,054 wounded. Almost all of the enclave\u2019s 2.3 million people have been displaced, while an Israeli blockade threatens famine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his time with the State Department,\u00a0Miller\u00a0regularly clashed with journalists<\/a>\u00a0who questioned the US response to Israel\u2019s handling of Gaza, including bombings of medical facilities and camps sheltering Palestinian civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
