Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said Pakistan \u201cwill never bow down to Indian hegemony\u201d as the recent ceasefire<\/a> with India holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe truth is that India is not the US and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel and Pakistan is not Palestine. Pakistan will never be deterred. It can never be coerced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will never bow down to Indian hegemony. The sooner they realise this, the better it will be for regional peace and the world,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Anadolu Agency.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He argued that terrorism, extremism and hatred were India\u2019s internal problems and that the New Delhi government was cracking down on groups including Muslims and Sikhs in the country, which was fuelling more anger, extremism and terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the DG ISPR had said Pakistan is not a violent nation, reaffirming that the country\u2019s top priority was peace as the recent ceasefire<\/a> with India holds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Delhi had accused Islamabad, without evidence, of orchestrating last month\u2019s deadly attack<\/a> in occupied Kashmir\u2019s Pahalgam. Pakistan had strongly denied<\/a> the allegations and called for a neutral probe<\/a>. As the situation turned into a military confrontation<\/a> between the nuclear powers, it took American intervention for both sides to agree to a ceasefire<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are not a violent nation, we are a serious nation. Our first priority is peace,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry told RT Arabic<\/em> in an interview, according to PTV News<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGreat and sensible powers like the United States understand better what the spirit of Pakistan\u2019s people is,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detailing the ceasefire process, the DG ISPR said the Indian defence ministry\u2019s spokesperson \u201cpersonally requested a ceasefire\u201d. It was unclear if the request was made to the US, which acted as a mediator, or Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe desire peace and stability, so we said, why not?\u201d the military spokesman was quoted as saying by PTV News<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lt Gen Chaudhry hailed the \u201ctremendous work\u201d done by diplomats by \u201cengaging the international community with great wisdom and in an extraordinary manner\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPakistan, with great maturity, responded promptly, firmly and effectively, forcing the enemy to face reality,\u201d the DG ISPR asserted, referring to the downing of five Indian air jets in response to New Delhi\u2019s deadly strikes on the night of May 6-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the night of May 6-7, New Delhi launched a series of air strikes<\/a> in Punjab and Azad Kashmir, killing over 30 civilians. Islamabad responded by downing five Indian jets<\/a> and later also intercepted<\/a> dozens of its drones<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India then attacked<\/a> Pakistani airbases and military targets on the night of May 9, prompting Pakistan to target its military installations<\/a> using missiles and airstrikes under \u201cOperation Bunyanum Marsoos\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe nation and the Pakistan armed forces stood united like an unbreakable wall,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recalling the events of May 9-10<\/a>, when the tensions between the two neighbours reached their peak amid airstrikes, the DG ISPR stated: \u201cThe enemy fired more missiles on the night of May 9 and 10 to scare us. India forgot that Pakistan\u2019s nation and its forces neither bow nor can be made to bow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn the morning of May 10, we responded, targeting only their military objectives with utmost responsibility and caution,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The military spokesperson stressed, \u201cNot a single civilian target was harmed; it was an appropriate, just and balanced response.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>\u2018India rejected logical neutral probe\u2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During his conversation reported by PTV News<\/em>, Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasised that to understand the Pak-India tensions, it was \u201cessential to look into its background\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIndia is hiding behind a false narrative to conceal the truth,\u201d the ISPR official said. He noted that while the Indian media started blaming Pakistan \u201cwithin minutes of the Pahalgam incident\u201d, its foreign ministry spokesperson admitted two days later that the investigation was underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere is the wisdom in making allegations without investigation and evidence?\u201d Gen Chaudhry asked rhetorically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that the government had taken a clear stance that if there was any evidence, it should be given to an impartial institution, and Pakistan was ready to cooperate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIndia rejected this logical offer and, acting unilaterally, fired missiles at our mosques, martyring children, women, and elders,\u201d the DG ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe sacred responsibility entrusted to the Pakistan armed forces is to protect the country\u2019s sovereignty and borders,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry stated, adding that forces had fulfilled the duty and would \u201ccontinue to do so at all costs\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DG ISPR reiterated the military\u2019s stance that India was \u201csponsoring terrorism in this region, particularly in Pakistan\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIndia is the real sponsor of ongoing terrorism in Pakistan, whether it is the khawarij<\/em> or terrorist groups active in Balochistan,\u201d Lt Gen Chaudhry said, referring to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that the state refers to as Fitna Al Khawarij<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the military\u2019s chief spokesperson had detailed<\/a> that a Pakistani terror suspect allegedly trained by India was arrested in Punjab\u2019s Jhelum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
