Indian journalists were arguably the second biggest victims of the Pakistan-India clash this week after being fed lies and propaganda to fuel misinformation and later apologizing to the public for betraying them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But journalists like Arnab Goswami and Major Gaurav Arya became laughing stocks after rejecting the US-brokered ceasefire deal as they wanted the situation to escalate to the point of no return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ex-Indian soldier Major Gaurav Arya defended his act of spreading misinformation by saying that it\u2019s a weapon of war which Hitler started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the second big name in spreading misinformation against Pakistan Arnab Goswami couldn\u2019t believe US President Donald Trump helped broker a ceasefire after the Indian government reached out to Washington D.C. to convince Pakistan to stop fighting. Analysts mostly comment that the ruthless display of Pakistan Air Force against Indian aggression was one of the main reasons why India frantically made its case at the Oval Office to help broker a peace deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goswami said, \u201cIt is not the job of the President of the United States to make a claim when we haven\u2019t even agreed that this is a matter which requires his intervention\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Indian media\u2019s initial false reporting on alleged ceasefire violations and drone activity, a sudden and unexplained shift in tone happened. Goswami and other big names in India\u2019s media industry abruptly went silent or altered their narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though India later accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire, there has been no formal escalation, contrary to India\u2019s past rhetoric that such violations would mean war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silence from Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh points to a situation that may be more complex or embarrassing for India than acknowledged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we have learned from the latest Pakistan-India escalation is that the media industry of our neighboring country thrives on misinformation. Also, the people across the line of control have intelligent minds who called out their media channels for lying and spreading misinformation about destroying big cities across Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the Indian government has developed an unhealthy habit of trying to look good in global politics instead of the ground reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Armed Forces of Pakistan, regardless of their local brand these days, have always shown class in times of war. Pakistan arguably played the situation much better than India this time and has more confidence in leading its narratives in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
