{"id":16524,"date":"2025-03-20T06:06:34","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T06:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=16524"},"modified":"2025-03-20T06:06:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T06:06:35","slug":"chinese-led-team-achieves-worlds-first-10000-km-quantum-secured-communication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=16524","title":{"rendered":"Chinese-led team achieves world&#8217;s first 10,000-km quantum-secured communication"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An international team led by Chinese scientists have realized quantum-secured communication across over 12,900 kilometers between China and South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the Jinan-1 micro-nano satellite and compact ground stations, this new breakthrough in quantum technology demonstrates the potential for secure quantum communication on a global scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an international first, the team led by the University of Science and Technology of China enabled real-time quantum key distribution (QKD) between the satellite and miniaturized ground stations &#8212; including one in Stellenbosch, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leveraging this engineering achievement, Chinese scientists, in collaboration with their counterparts from Stellenbosch University, have successfully demonstrated the longest-distance hacker-proof communication across hemispheres to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result was published on Wednesday in the journal Nature.
