{"id":13382,"date":"2025-01-17T04:29:06","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T04:29:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=13382"},"modified":"2025-01-17T04:29:07","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T04:29:07","slug":"mayors-from-china-asean-discuss-urban-openess-cooperation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gsrra.com\/?p=13382","title":{"rendered":"Mayors from China, ASEAN discuss urban openess, cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mayors, representatives and experts from China and ASEAN countries have gathered in Nanning, capital of south China&#8217;s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to discuss urban openness and cooperation during a dialogue that opened Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Themed &#8220;Building a China-ASEAN Community of Friendship: Urban Openness and Cooperation,&#8221; the &#8220;Global Mayors Dialogue &#8212; Nanning&#8221; event has attracted attendees from ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, the participants conducted discussions and exchanges on topics including urban openness and economic cooperation, cultural interactions and integration, and experiences in urban governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has grown increasingly close, with bilateral trade volume rising from over 600 billion U.S. dollars in 2019 to nearly 1 trillion dollars in 2024,&#8221; said Nong Shengwen, Party chief of Nanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The two sides have achieved deep integration of their industrial, supply and value chains,&#8221; Nong added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We understand that friendship is the most valuable aspect of peace and security in a community that will work together to achieve stability, prosperity and sustainable development by encouraging openness and collaboration between cities,&#8221; said Atsaphangthong Siphandone, governor of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, at the event.&nbsp;\u25a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/english.news.cn\/20250116\/f800cbc0ad074eada2fc998727931e42\/DVmHBCxcilTsHJc6.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This photo taken on Jan. 16, 2025 shows a performance during the intervals of the &#8220;Global Mayors Dialogue &#8212; Nanning&#8221; event in Nanning, south China&#8217;s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
