To enhance public health outcomes through improving milk quality, FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (PSX: FECPL) has proposed an innovative pilot project, \u201cIslamabad Safe Milk City.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal was presented to the Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research (NFS&R), Rana Tanveer Hussain, during a meeting in Islamabad yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting focused on FrieslandCampina Engro\u2019s plans for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Pakistan\u2019s agriculture sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussion emphasized enhancing milk production, improving livestock genetics, and empowering farmers through capacity-building programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted Pakistan\u2019s potential for FDI in the dairy sector, including opportunities for local production of infant formula and powdered milk to reduce import dependency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed the need for strategic partnerships between the government and private sector to achieve self-sufficiency, conserve foreign exchange, and bolster the dairy industry\u2019s growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
FECPL, part of the globally renowned FrieslandCampina cooperative, has invested millions of dollars in Pakistan since 2016. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company shared insights into its operations, highlighting a large-scale dairy farm in Sukkur, Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also expressed its commitment to transferring advanced technologies and international best practices to develop Pakistan\u2019s dairy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain assured his full support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the country\u2019s dairy industry while ensuring equitable benefits for all stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
