It was a clarion call for sanity amidst the chaos of war\u2014a plea to halt the catastrophic humanitarian crisis engulfing Gaza. The U.S. veto, however, crushed any hope of respite for the nearly 2.3 million Palestinians trapped in what UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini aptly described as a \u201cgraveyard\u201d for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamas branded the U.S. a \u201cdirect partner\u201d in war crimes, while voices from across the Muslim world echoed similar sentiments, decrying America\u2019s role in enabling atrocities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Global South, nations like Brazil and South Africa have criticized the U.S. for prioritizing geopolitical interests over humanity, with Pakistan calling it an act of \u201cunconscionable hypocrisy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Partner in Genocide?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Biden administration\u2019s unwavering support for Israel has been evident through its provision of arms and financial aid during the conflict. Critics argue that this aid is not merely defensive but serves to further an agenda of expansionism, facilitating Israel\u2019s continued encroachment on Palestinian land. The vision of a \u201cGreater Israel,\u201d long dismissed as a conspiracy, appears disturbingly tangible under the Biden presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless, Biden\u2019s Cold War-era mindset and apparent disdain for his political rivals have clouded his judgment, leaving the world to grapple with the devastating consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. veto is not just a policy failure; it is a moral failure.
