Pakistan: SECP Chairman Visits Jazz’s New HQ to Explore Collaboration on Economic Digitisation and SME Growth

Jazz hosted Mr. Akif Saeed, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and Mr. Muzzaffar Ahmed Mirza, Commissioner SECP on Thursday, April 17, at its newly inaugurated headquarters today, underscoring a shared commitment to accelerate the digital transformation of Pakistan’s economy.

The discussion focused on strengthening public-private collaboration to digitise the economy and formalise the SME sector, both critical to unlocking sustainable growth. The SECP leadership commended Jazz’s pioneering role in digital financial services and its far-reaching efforts in promoting financial inclusion across the country.

From Jazz and VEON, the meeting was attended by Aamir Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer, Jazz; Farrukh Khan, Chief Financial Officer, Jazz; Saima Kamila Khan, Chief Legal Officer, Jazz; and Burak Özer, Group Chief Financial Officer, VEON.

“We’re honoured to welcome SECP’s leadership and align on our shared vision of a more inclusive, transparent, and digital Pakistan,” said Aamir Ibrahim. “Together, we can empower entrepreneurs, enable financial access, and fuel economic resilience through innovation.”

The visit marked a meaningful step toward enabling policy and regulatory frameworks that support Pakistan’s evolving digital ecosystem and the economic empowerment of its people.
